PURPOSE:To easily obtain the velocity matching state between a light and a modulation wave by varying an interval between a slot and a conductor ground plate so as to vary freely the phase velocity. CONSTITUTION:A slot line provided with an electrode face 2 having a slot 3 in a width of (s) is arranged on a conductor ground plate 4 while its electrode face 2 is directed downward at an interval (a) being a half wavelength or below. Since the electric field of the line is mainly a horizontal polarized wave, the ground plate 4 and the slot line is interrupted, the phase velocity is infinite and the phase velocity of the slot line coupled therewith is increased, and the phase velocity is varied remarkably by varying the interval (a) between the ground plate 4 and the slot line. Thus, the velocity matching making the phase velocity of the light wave and a radio wave is implemented simply. |
