The invention relates to a device allowing a differential to transmit different torques automatically to each of its shafts. It consists of a conventional differential, to the planet wheels of which are added a flange with a hub 27 or 28 associated with the planet wheel by means of balls, themselves acting on the reaction washers 25 or 26; when the torques between the planet wheels 13 or 18 and the flanges 27 or 28 are unequal, one of the reaction washers 25 or 26 applies a pressure to the brakes 16-12 or 20-21 by means of the pushers 2 or 14, thus braking the planet wheel tending to race. The device according to the invention is intended especially for motor vehicles, agricultural tractors, cross-country vehicles, etc. <IMAGE>
