PURPOSE:To obtain a recording layer having high reflectivity and sufficiently high C/N by forming the layer made of metal and containing specific wt.% of Te in its range on a substrate, and irradiating the whole surface with a light to crystallize the metal recording layer. CONSTITUTION:A substrate is made of an arbitrary material selected from various types of materials used as the substrate of a conventional information recording medium. In order to improve flatness, adhesive properties and to prevent a recording layer from deteriorating, the surface of the substrate of the side provided with the layer may be provided with an under-coating layer made, for example, of polymehtylmethacrylate, acrylic acid-methacrylate copolymer, etc., and an intermediate layer made of polyolefin chloride, nitrocellulose, polystyrene, fluorine resin, etc., may by provided on the substrate. A recording layer is provided on the intermediate layer made of fluorine resin, etc., or the board. The layer is made of metal containing 71-95wt.% of Te, and a metal layer formed by vacuum depositing, etc., is irradiated with a light to convert its amorphous state into a crystalline state in an extremely short period of time, thereby obtaining a crystallized metal layer having high reflectivity. |
