HEAT-FUSIBLE ACRYLIC FIBER AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject fiber thermally fusible at low temperatures by dissolving an acrylonitrile-based polymer and polyethylene terephthalate copolymerized with isophthalic acid in a common solvent and spinning the resultant solution. CONSTITUTION:The objective fiber obtained by mixing and dissolving (A) 99-75 pts.wt. acrylonitrile-based polymer and (B) 1-25 pts.wt. polyethylene terephthalate copolymerized with >=10wt.% isophthalic acid in a common solvent thereof (e.g., DMF, dimethylacetamide or dimethyl sulfoxide) and spinning the resultant solution as a spinning solution.
