<p>Anticorrosive random copolymers and emulsifier-free emulsion copolymers are prepared by reacting an ethylenically unsaturated monomer(s) such as styrene, alpha-methylstyrene, butylacrylate, 2-ethylhexylacrylate and acrylic acid, with a polymerizable, surface-active alkylphosphate monomer. The emulsions are employed as binders for aqueous latex paints or can be used alone to coat and protect corrodible substrates. The copolymers protect the substrate from corrosion.</p> |
