PURPOSE:To increase airtightness and to prevent deterioration in battery performance attendant on storage by covering the outer surface of a hot-melt adhesive resin which seals a gap between the periphery of a positive plate and that of a negative plate with a thermoplastic resin molding layer. CONSTITUTION:A gap between the periphery of a positive plate and that of a negative plate 5 is sealed with a hot-melt adhesive resin 6. The outer circumference of the resin 6 is covered with a circular thermoplastic molding layer 8 having a U-shaped cross section and striding the outer periphery of the positive plate 1 and that of the negative plate 5. By this molding layer 8, the airtightness of a battery is increased and deterioration in battery performance attendant on storage is prevented. |
