PURPOSE:To perform pressure welding with a single device and simply by arranging a plurality of coated conductors of a cable inside cover insulators to turn the grooves by 90 deg. and apply pressure to the cover insulators for joining while simultaneously pressure welding the coated conductors to contacts. CONSTITUTION:Coated conductors 14 of a cable C are charged to the alignment part of the grooves of the conductor guide members 96 and the grooves 26 of the cover insulators 12. On the other hand, a connector body 10 is mounted on an opening part 112 of a connector holder 110 and a handle 108 is operated to move a slide unit part 36 to a press part 32. Thereby, a cover insulator supporting member 88 turns from an initial position by 90 deg.. When a plate member 70 of the unit part 36 is further pushed forward, a cutter cuts surplus parts of the coated conductors 14 extending outside the insulators 12. Next, when a handle 46 of a press part 32 is operated, the insulators 12 furnished with the coated conductors 14 are charged to the connection parts 22 of the contacts 20 so that the coated conductors 14 are pressure-welded to the contacts 20. |
