PURPOSE:To obtain a color photographic sensitive material having high sensitivity, high gradation, or high maximum developed color density by exposing a silver halide photosensitive material in the presence of a specified pyrazolotriazole Magenta coupler and developing the material with a developer contg. an aromatic primary amine. CONSTITUTION:After exposing a silver halide photosensitive material in the presence of a 1H-pyrazolo-(1.5-b)-1,2,4-triazole coupler expressed by the formula I, the material is developed with a developer contg. an aromatic primary amine. In the formula I, Y is an O atom or an N atom, each R1 and R1' is an H atom or an alkyl group, R3 is an electron attractive group having a Hammett's substituent constant sigmaP >=0.35, (n) is zero when Y is an O atom and 1 when Y is an N atom. The coupler may be incorporated into a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer of a silver halide color photographic sensirive material or into its adjacent layer. The photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer may be a green-sensitive layer or a red-sensitive layer, but green sensitive layer is more preferable. Thus, a coupler having superior characteristic in either one of high sensitivity, high gradation or maximum density, is obtd. |
