PURPOSE:To determine the velocity of flow of powder and granules accurately by providing a destaticizing needle in the mid-way of a transport pipeline for two-phases of solid and gas and measuring the time when a voltage pulse is generated in an electric resistance from the point when the destaticizing needle is grounded like pulses. CONSTITUTION:A measuring device for velocity of flow is provided with a transport pipe 1 and a detecting pipe 2. The pipe 2 is insulated electrically form the pipe 1 by means of insulators 3, and is grounded through a ground wire 6 and an electric resistor 7. A destaticizing needle 4 is provided in the mid-way of the pipe 1. Thereupon, when powder and granules are transported with a uniform concn., the electric current flowing from the pipe 2 to the wire 6 does not fluctuate but when the needle 4 is grounded, the electric charge of the particle groups near the destaticizing needle is lost at that moment. Thus, the velocity of flow is determined accurately by measuring the time since the instantaneous grounding of the needle 14 until a voltage pulse is generated in the resistor 7 wit h a synchroscope 8. |
