PURPOSE:To enable detection of the position of a target by one camera and to attain an improvement in operability, such as shortening of a measuring time, by a method wherein an angle of depression formed by viewing the target from the camera is calculated from the coordinate position of the target on a plane image obtained from an image within a visual field, and from an angle of field of the camera. CONSTITUTION:A camera is installed at the summit of a hill, for instance, so that a target is picked up at an angle of depression, and the position of the designated target is calculated on the basis of an information inputted from a video camera device and an information on the coordinate position of the target obtained by catching or designating a target image from an image- designating device, by a target position calculating means 2 connected to a camera-related information input means 1. A target position output means 3 is constructed of a data display device, for instance, and displays the calculated position of the target by an image information and numerical data, for instance. |
