A sound proof member of motor is made by the following procedure. Heat treating at 780-800≦̸C for less than 1minute is followed by tempering at 360-400≦̸C for less than 1-3 minutes to make the hardness 420-470Hv. Shaping and second tempering is done at 180-220≦̸C for less than 5-10ppm.
