发明名称 METHOD FOR FORMING OPTICAL CIRCUIT DEVICE
摘要 PURPOSE:To form a small-sized optical circuit device with a satisfactory characteristic at a low price by fixing a plate-shaped optical circuit element along a groove in a position to isolate the optical axis of an optical wave guide in the groove which cuts the optical wave guide with the whole plate block. CONSTITUTION:A plate block 16 to be composed of a same material as a wave guide substrate 13 is adhered and fixed through a buffer layer 16a to one part on an optical wave guide 15. A groove 17 to cut the optical wave guide 15 with the whole plate block 16 is formed in a direction to be orthogonal with the optical wave guide 15 from the upper surface of the plate block 16. A plate- shaped optical circuit element 18 is fixed along the groove 17 in the position to isolate the optical axis of the optical wave guide in the groove 17. In order to cut the optical wave guide 15, which is formed on the surface of the wave guide substrate 13, without sagging or falling, it is desirable to cut it from surroundings in a condition that the optical wave guide 15 is shut in an internal part. Thus, the compact optical circuit device of the satisfactory characteristic not to have the transmission loss of light can be easily formed at the low price.
