PURPOSE:To prevent waste of methanol and cause of knocking and to enhance the driving performance of an engine by specifying an injecting amount of methanol per one cylinder. CONSTITUTION:In a method for injecting methanol to the suction air to reduce a maximum combustion temperature of an engine, an injecting amount of methanol per one cylinder is substantially not more than 0.15g/sec. Thus, for example, in cases where the rotation speed of the engine is 1,200 or 2,000rpm, even if the methanol is injected in the amount of not less than 0.12g/sec, the methanol injected in an excess amount of not less than the above value is wasted according to the result of an experiment from the view point of inhibition of knocking and enhancement of a driving performance. |
