PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a pallet driving means by holding one part of pallet on a holding engagement member by the pallet driving means capable of engaging simultaneously with adjacent two pallets and moving it by changing alternately. CONSTITUTION:When a fore and aft movable carriage is advanced, a sprocket 8 is moved to the part of a machine tool 4. In that case the chain part engaged by an engaging member 23 with the pallet held by the engagement of an engagement holding member 26 and engaging element 27 is not moved, so the pallet 1 of the other part is moved toward the machine tool 4 with the moving amt. of two times the fore and aft movable carriage. In such case, the engaging member 23 of the front side is released at its engagement on the way of its movement in the moving direction and a claw 25 is moved around the sprocket 8. When the pallet 1 reaches the specified position of the machine tool 4 shown by a chain line, it is descended, the engagement of the engaging member 23 is released and set on the machine tool 4. |
