PURPOSE:To correct an output properly by comparing a real value of a distance or a direction with a measured value of the distance or the direction of a sensor being consequent on the movement of a moving body and by correcting the output of the sensor in conformity with the degree of a difference between them. CONSTITUTION:A road length L between two real positions A and B which are determined sequentially on a map with the movement of a moving body on a road is determined beforehand from coordinate positions on a road map stored in a map information storage medium 5. Then, the rate L/L' of a difference in a relative distance between the road length L and a distance L' of the movement sensed by a distance sensor 1 when the moving body moves on the road between the positions A and B is determined. An output (x) of the distance sensor 1 is multiplied by said rate used as a correction coefficient. |
