The invention relates to a device 1 in connection with a supporting leg 30 for exchangeable load carriers such as, for example, an exchangeable platform body, which supporting leg is pivotally connected to the load carrier so as to be able to be swung in and out in relation to the load carrier, can be slid to a limited extent in the direction of width of the load carrier and can be locked in its swung-out position. The device 1 comprises a telescopic device 10, the outer tube 11 of which is connected to the load carrier and the extensible inner tube 12 of which supports a hinge member 13 about which the supporting leg 30 can be pivoted between the swung-in and swung-out position. A tension spring 50 is arranged to act between the supporting leg 30 and the hinge member 13. The supporting leg 30 has an external collar 32 for temporary engagement with a section 18 of the hinge member 13. The hinge member 13 comprises a hinge pin 40 and the supporting leg 30 has oblong holes 34,35 for the hinge pin so as thereby to allow a limited relative movement between the hinge member 13 and the supporting leg 30 in the longitudinal direction of the supporting leg, thus enabling the collar 32 to engage with the hinge member 13.
