<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid crystal display device which can execute high-duty display by composing a nonlinear element of an MIM element which does not need a high-temperature process. CONSTITUTION:For the liquid crystal display device to define a plastic film as a substrate, the nonlinear element having hard carbon insulating film, for which low-temperature filming can be executed, is used. Namely, a high conductive material such as Al, Ag, Ni, Cr, Ti, Ni-Cr alloy, etc., is accumulated on a plastic film substrate 1 like polyethylene terephthalate and after that, the material is patterned to a prescribed pattern. Then, a metallic layer 7 is formed as a lower common electrode. Next, an insulating film 6 composed of hard carbon is formed on the layer 7. Thus, the active matrix type liquid crystal display device, which can execute high-duty display, can be obtained.</p> |
