PURPOSE: To make a cemented carbide layer have a very small edge radius and excellent in durability and suitable for precision working of a hole by that the cemented carbide layer is one deposited by a PVD method and is not subsequently ground. CONSTITUTION: On a cutting face 12 of a cemented carbide cutter tip 19, a cemented carbide layer 21 is imparted by a PVD method and an edge 14 is kept in a complete state. On a flank 13, a cemented carbide layer 22 is imparted by the same PVD method. These two cemented carbide layers 21, 22 are made of TiCN and the surfaces 23, 24 of the cemented carbide layers 21, 22 are formed into extremely flat shapes. When the cutter tip 19 is used as a cutting tip for a single edge reamer for fine working of a hole, the cemented carbide layer 22 is manufactured thicker than the cemented carbide layer 21. |
