PURPOSE:To detect the phase relation between a grinding wheel and a workpiece gear which are rotated by each independent motor by counting the number of phase pulses included in phase difference pulses and measuring the phase difference. CONSTITUTION:In a hard gear finisher, a grinding wheel 3 and a workpiece gear 7 are engaged with each other with an axis crossing angle and synchronously driven to carry out the grinding of the workpiece gear 7. Encoders 11, 12 are linked to the rotary shafts of a grinding-wheel driving motor 9 and a workpiece driving motor 10 and send out phase pulses indicating the rotation phase angles of these rotary shafts. A frequency division means forms teeth number pulses of pulses for the amount of a defined number of teeth based on the phase pulses referring to teeth number data indicating the number of teeth of the grinding wheel 3 and the workpiece gear 7. A phase difference pulse corresponding to the phase difference of the teeth number pulses is formed and the number of the phase pulses included in the phase difference pulses are counted, to measure the phase difference between the grinding wheel and the workpiece gear. |
