The invention relates to a credit card device for parking at different hourly rates, of the type including a credit card having an area capable of displaying a signal showing that the card is in use, a counting device whose value reduces from a nominal value so as to tend to zero in proportion as the parking time runs out, a device making it possible to make the said counting device operate at a speed proportional to the value of the hourly parking rate, a support for accommodating the credit card, a source for supplying electrical energy to the devices contained within the credit card, and at least one contact allowing the abovementioned devices to be connected to the electrical source when the card is engaged in its support. This device further includes means 8, 9 allowing the user to set the value of the hourly rate of the card to that of the parking area. <IMAGE>
