PURPOSE:To reduce bad effects of irradiated laser beam to the periphery and energy loss by converging the laser beam in an elliptical shape through a lens to irradiate a material to be worked with the laser beam and agreeing the long axis of this ellipse to the extension direction of a working part. CONSTITUTION:The case 25 of an emitting unit 8 where the laser beam is converged and emitted is made up by connecting an upper case body 11 and a lower case body 21 with an extension ring 23. A plano-convex lens 17 is set to the upper case body 11. On the other hand, a plano-convex 1st lower lens 28 and the 2nd lower lens 31 of a semi-circular cylindrical lens are attached vertically to the lower case body 21. By passing the laser beam from a laser oscillator (not shown) to this emitting unit 8 through an optical fiber 7, these laser beam is converged so that an optical mottle of the laser beam on a plane vertical to an optical axis H is elliptic. The material to be worked where the long axis of the ellipse and the extension part of the working part are agreed is irradiated with the converted laser beam and machined by the converged laser beam. Thus, the periphery of the working part irrelevant to working is prevented from being irradiated with the laser beam as possible. |
