A method for treating waste water comprise (a) mixing industrial waste water (IWW) and higher pH IWW, or maintaining pH 10.5-11.0 with alkali, (b) diluting with seawater (5-10 vol.%) for coprecipitating suspended solids by formation of CaCO3 and Mg(OH)2, (c) stirring for 15 min and standing for 15 min, and (d) sepg. the solids.
