PURPOSE:To simultaneously separate and analyze the cations and anions in a liquid to be measured with high-performance liquid chromatography by transporting the liquid to be measured by a moving phase of an electrolyte soln. contg. a cation complex forming agent. CONSTITUTION:A sepn. column packed with a strong acidic cation exchange resin having an exchange capacity of 0.1milli equiv./ml is preconditioned by using an eluate consisting of 5mM crotonic acid contg. 2X10<-7>M triethylene tetramine. A sample soln. contg. 9.6ppm sulfuric acid, 6.2ppm nitric acid, 4.5ppm formic acid, 29.5ppm acetic acid, 2.8ppm lithium, 2.3ppm sodium, 7.2ppm ammo nium, and 3.9ppm potassium is supplied at 100mul as the ions to be measured to this sepn. column. The sample soln. is transported to the sepn. column by an eltate at 1.5ml/min flow rate and is eluted from the sepn. column. The ions which are to be measured and are eluted in such a manner are introduced into a conductmetric meter by which the physical quantity is detected. The anions and cations in the liquid to be measured are simultaneously separated and analyzed in this way. |
