Use of a water tight, water-vapour-permeable textile material which has been provided with a film of a water tight material having a water vapour transmission rate of at least 1000 g/m<2>/day for hygiene articles in the medical and health sector, in particular for surgical cloths, bed underpads, mattress covers. The water tight material is a copolyether ester. The film (1) has not been completely laminated with a textile sheet (2) on at least one side.
