: In order to achieve a small and simple compacter with high compression for garden equipment like lawn mower there is disclosed a method and apparatus for compacting grass, leafage or similar material, which is comminuted and compacted simultaneously in a single compacter device with a rotating drum with arc-shaped tines cooperating with a press-channel.
