PURPOSE:To produce a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet having superior suitability for blanking, superior magnetic characteristics and metallic luster by using a blend of magnesia contg. a specified amt. of water of hydration with a specified amt. of alkali metal sulfates, etc., as a separating agent for annealing used at the time of finish annealing. CONSTITUTION:A grain-oriented electrical steel sheet cold-rolled to the final thickness is subjected to decarburization annealing, a separating agent for annealing is applied to the steel sheet and finish annealing is carried out to produce a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet. At this time, a blend of 100pts.wt. magnesia contg. <=2% water of hydration with 1-40pts.wt. one or more kinds of sulfides, polysulfides, hydroxides, chlorides, nitrates, phosphates or carbonates of alkali metals such as Li, Na and K or alkaline earth metals such as Ca, Ba and Mg is used as the separating agent. A grain-oriented electrical steel sheet having superior suitability for blanking, superior magnetic characteristics and metallic luster over the entire surface is obtd. independently of a subtle change in conditions during decarburization annealing. |
