<p>The fluid-powered actuator (10) having a body (12), an axially extending rotatable shaft (36) with a plurality of helical grooves (64), and an annular piston sleeve (24) reciprocally mounted within the body (12) and receiving the shaft (36) therethrough. Guide pins (82) are rotatably disposed in piston sleeve bores (76) and ride in the shaft grooves (64). An annular carrier (88) is reciprocally mounted within the body (12) coaxial with the piston sleeve (24) and is adjustably axially movable relative thereto. Guide pins (102) are rotatably disposed in carrier bores (96) and ride the shaft grooves (64). Rotation of the carrier (88) is prevented relative to the piston sleeve (24). An adjustably rotatable collar (136) extends between the piston sleeve (24) and the carrier (88) to selectively set the axial distance between the piston sleeve (24) and collar (136) to eliminate backlash.</p> |
