High speed floor buffing machine - has motor driving buffing pad holder via shaft with flexible coupling

The buffer has a chassis supporting an electric motor (16) which drives a buffing pad (28) holder (30). An X-shaped buffing pad is attached to the holder and is formed of loosely spun plastics fibres. A shaft is rotatably mounted on the chassis to connect the motor and buffing pad holder. A pivot between the shaft and holder allows pivotal movement of the latter over uneven floor surfaces. The pad holder can have a hub and an outer ring consisting of high molecular weight plastics which are integrally moulded with a flexible pivot ring.
