In the case of a mould core (former) for producing a hollow body (1) from fibre-reinforced plastic by winding fibre filaments or strands onto a core sleeve (4) arranged around a core spindle (2) by means of a core framework (3) supported on the latter, the said core sleeve is guided as a flexible casing of the core framework (3) by means of supporting elements (5) securely seated on axle spindles (6) parallel to the core spindle (2), the axle spindles (6) determining the core sleeve profile by their number and position, and the supporting elements (5) having a cross-sectional profile in the form of a cam disc, with at least two arcs (5.1, 5.2) of such different radii that the core sleeve (4) is at least tensioned or can be tensioned between the supporting elements (5) as soon as it couples together the arcs (5.1) having the largest or larger radius of all the supporting elements (5). <IMAGE>
