A device for bevel cutting the edges of rubber plates or plates of a similar material for mitre joints has an inclined knife (5) that extends transversely to the cutting direction and is slidingly mounted in the cutting direction (S) on a base frame (7) provided with a support surface (E) for the rubber plate (4) and two guiding rails (10, 11). The first guiding rail (10) is arranged underneath the support surface (E) for guiding the free extremity (13) of the blade (6) and the second guiding rail (11) is spaced above the support surface (E) for guiding the usual knife (5). In order to cut in a more easy and less polluting manner the edges of the rubber plates, the knife of the device has a heatable blade (6) and two clamping bars for the rubber plate (4) that extend in the cutting direction (S) are arranged immediately adjacent the blade (6). The first clamping bar (15) rests with a longitudinal edge (35) located on the support surface (E) against the lower side of the blade (6), and the second clamping bar (14) spaced above the support surface (E) rests with a longitudinal edge (36) against the upper side of the blade (6). |
