<p>PURPOSE: To absorb the action of pipe expansion by providing one of ends of a sleeve equipped with a peripheral housing on one end of only one of pipes and an end of the other pipe capable of sliding freely in the sleeve and coming into contact only with a corresponding lip of a joint. CONSTITUTION: An outer sleeve 3 adjacent to a peripheral housing 4 is provided with a peripheral housing 12 which includes a joint 13 consisting of an elastic sleeve terminating in lips 14, 15 at each end and has a certain length in the axial direction. Pressurized fluid circulating in pipes 1, 2 reaches a cavity 10 on an inner side of this joint 13. The elastic sleeve and the lips 14, 15 of the joint 13 are pressed against ends of the sleeve 3 and the pipes 1, 2, respectively, due to the action of pressure to form a leakage prevention seal. Since these lips 14, 15 allow slide in the axial direction of ends of corresponding pipes 1, 2, it is possible to absorb the phenomena of expansion and shrinkage due to the action of fluctuations of ambient temperature and the action of fluctuations of a fluid circulating in the pipes 1, 2.</p> |
