A feed tube (1) is inserted in the wall opening. Packing (2) is inserted between the tube and the opening periphery. Two flanges (2, 4) are axially seated both sides of the packing on the tube (1). One falnge (3) is arranged outside the wall and directed against it for sealing purposes. The other flange (4) is arranged to press the packing axially inside the wall opening and is supported against the axial pressure of the packing. A blocking unit facilitates the movement of the flange on the feed tube only in the direction to the packing. The inner flange (4) is connected to a drawing cord (25) which tightens between the feed tube and the packingm and is moved axially outwards, and passes through respectively one opening (27, 28) in the flange (3) and in a clamping nut (7). It is supported on the outside of the nut (7) to ensure against being pulled back through the opening (27, 28) upon manual rotation of the clamping nut (7) the drawing cord moves the flange (4) against the packing to compress it. ADVANTAGE - Degree of compression of packing easier to ascertain. Tensioning and compression of packing can be realized in one single operation by turning nut.
