At least one hollow profile is provided for fitting in or on a panel of a piece of furniture or a wall. Conductor tracks, which run in the longitudinal direction of the profile and are insulated from one another but are not insulated from the interior are provided on or in at least one of the inner side walls of the hollow profile. The hollow profile has a longitudinal gap whose width is less than the maximum unobstructed width of the hollow profile. A number of electrical pick-offs can be pushed into the hollow profile. Each of these electrical pick-offs has a block whose cross-section fits with play into the interior of the hollow profile. Contact parts for picking off electricity from the conductor tracks are seated on the block. At least one connecting device for an electrical cable is provided on an externally accessible part of the block. If a board is equipped with such an electrical power supply, then it is necessary only to insert into the hollow profile, from one of its ends, as many electricity pick-offs as are necessary, which may be distributed as required in the longitudinal direction, and it is then possible to connect cables at the desired points. The conductor tracks can also be arranged directly in a channel within the board, without any hollow profile.
