PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of image quality by mounting an image forming circuit or determining the coordinates of each point of an image corresponding to each reciprocating stage of shaking scanning on the basis of the apparent transmitting direction of an ultrasonic wave, the time from transmission to reception and the magnitude of the positional shift element contained in a motion converting mechanism. CONSTITUTION:The resistance value of a variable resistor 15 corresponds to the magnitude of the positional shift element contained in a motion converting mechanism 2 and the magnitude thereof is the elastic deformation quantity of the play gap between members or a constitutional member at the time of power transmission. The resistance value of the variable resistor 15 is adjusted in either one of the forward and rearward stages of the shaking of a transducer 1 after the changing-over to 'adjustment mode' to eliminate the image blur of a display device 30. The resistance value at that time is written in a memory through the A/D converter mounted in an image forming circuit 14. Next, the adjustment mode is change over to 'diagnostic mode' and the coordinates of each point of the image of the display device 30 are corrected and determined on the basis of the apparent transmitting direction of an ultrasonic wave, the time from transmission to reception and the data corresponding to the positional shift quantity written in the memory by the image forming circuit 14. |
