PURPOSE:To obtain the electrophotographic sensitive body having high sensitivity and high durability by incorporating specific trisazo compds. as charge carrier generating compds. into the photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of the trisazo compds. expressed by the formula I are incorporated as the charge carrier generating compds. into the photosensitive body. In the formula I, Ar1 to Ar4 respectively denote an arylene group, bivalent condensed polycyclic arom. group, etc.; L denotes -NHCO-, -CONH-, etc.; A denotes the formula II, III, etc. X denotes an atom group necessary for forming an arom. ring or heterocycle by condensing with the benzene ring in the formula in which a hydroxy group and Y are bonded; Y denotes the formula IV, etc.; R<1> denotes an alkyl group, etc.; R<2> denotes a hydrogen atom, etc.; R<3> denotes an alkyl group, etc.; R<4>, R<5> denote a hydrogen atom, etc.; there is no case in which both R<4> and R<5> are simultaneously the hydrogen atom.
