PURPOSE: To obtain a large freedom in the case of arranging folding lines by forming at least one folding line by pressing one bending edge in a sheet adjacent to at least longitudinal edge of a hot-melt strip, thereby guaranteeing a good quality of a cover. CONSTITUTION: A press ram 25 is lowered, and a sheet 35 is urged down to a hot-melt strip 34 in a central area. When the sheet 35 is raised in an operating area of the ram 25, the strip 34 is raised from a part 10. Slide members 17, 20 are moved until bent webs 23, 24 projected from the members 17, 20 are existed at lower positions of folding lines formed in the sheet 25. After the members 17, 20 are arrived at final positions, the ram 25 is executed in a second pressing step, and hence it is again lowered. Since the applied pressure remarkably increases in a first pressing step, the folding lines are formed in the sheet 35 via the webs 23, 24.
