The invention relates to a merchandise carrier for detachable fixture to a display wall of a self-service shop or the like, consisting of a holder which is to be fixed to the display wall and of a rod which projects freely on the outside of the holder and carries the merchandise to be displayed. In order to provide a merchandise carrier of the abovementioned type which is not only simple to produce and assemble, but is also secured in the display wall against unintentional detachment, it is proposed according to the invention that the substantially plate-shaped holder (1) has a U-shape cross-section and the limbs (3), facing the display wall, of the holder (1) are each equipped with at least one inward-directed guide (5), between which and the rear of the holder (1) there is displaceably arranged a locking member (6), the lower end of which is designed as a hook (7) for engaging behind a horizontally running groove or a wire bar of the display wall. By means of this configuration it is achieved that a holder, inserted into the groove of a lamella wall or between parallel wire bars of a grid wall with pushed-up locking member, is automatically fastened at its lower end to the display wall and is thus secured against unintentional swinging-up, since the locking member slides into the latched position under the effect of its weight.
