Toner image transfer for laser copier-printer - having copy sheet guided into contact with process layer before transfer position

The copy sheet (20) is fed to the process layer on which the charge image has been processed by toner powder. The transfer is via a charge position (6). The copy sheet is guided to touch the process layer in front of the transfer position so that an intimate contact is ensured and a high quality image transfer. The copy sheet transport system has a guide plate (31) with a raised lip (34) to deflect the sheet out of its normal path and towards the process layer. Non flat copy sheets are thus assured of a secure contact with the process layer. ADVANTAGE - Simple addition to photocopier/printer for high quality copies.
