In a device for producing granules or pastilles from a free-flowing material of varying viscosity, said material is directed towards the compression slit between a rotating hollow roller (1) with internal teeth and a pressing roller (2) with external teeth engaged with the hollow roller. Bores (5), extending from the respective basis of the teeth of the internal toothing to the outer side of the hollow roller (1), are provided in the hollow roller (1); the material is pressed out through said bores when the pressing roller (2) is engaged and it is deposited in the form of pastilles or granules on a cooling surface (13). A casing tube (3) can be provided on the periphery of the hollow roller (1); said casing tube has bores, which are aligned with the bores (5) of the hollow roller (1) and have a smaller cross-section than the bores of the hollow roller, so that the device can be adapted to the viscosity of the free-flowing material to be processed. The front surfaces of the hollow roller (1) can be closed by front plates (1a, 1b), one of which at least has a central bore (12) through which extends, under sealing material, a hollow tube (15) for supplying the material, the hollow tube (15) having output openings, situated inside the hollow roller (1), through which the free-flowing material is delivered. Mountings (14) are attached to the hollow tube (15), the pressing roller (2) being lodged in a freely rotating manner on their free extremities. |
