PURPOSE:To produce the title steel sheet having superior suitability for blanking and metallic luster by adhering alkali metal sulfides to a cold-rolled grain- oriented electrical steel sheet before decarburization annealing and by carrying out surface cleaning and coating after finish annealing. CONSTITUTION:One or more kinds of sulfides, hydroxides, chlorides, sulfates, borates, nitrates, phosphates or carbonates of alkali metals such as Li and Na or alkaline earth metals such as Ca and Ba are adhered to a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet cold-rolled to the final thickness by about 0.01-5.0g/m<2> before decarburization annealing or a separating agent for annealing prepd. by blending 100pts.wt. MgO with 1-40pts.wt. one or more kinds of such salts is applied to the steel sheet after decarburization annealing and finish annealing is carried out. Fine unevenness and contaminants on the surface of the steel sheet are then removed by pickling, chemical polishing or electropolishing and inorg., org. or semiorg. coating is carried out. The formation of a glass film is prevented and a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet having a smooth surface is obtd. |
