A protection cap is described for the rear end face of interchangeable lenses. The protection cap is characterised in that it has one mount each for an interchangeable lens on its two end faces. A continuous partition is provided inside the protection cap between the two mounts. The protection cap facilitates the operation of changing lenses in that the removed lens can be directly attached to the protection cap and no longer needs to be put aside.
