In a rotor for a squirrel-cage induction motor for frequency convertor operation each rotor slot has a main portion (21) in which the rotor conductor is arranged and a slot opening (22) arranged between the main portion and that surface (7) of the rotor facing the air gap. At each slot the rotor core has a magnetic bridge with branches (231, 232) adjoining the rest of the rotor core on each side of the slot opening and with a tip (233) directed radially inwards towards the rotor conductor. The width of the branches of the bridge and the width of the air gap between the two branches decrease in a direction towards the interior of the rotor conductor. |
