The invention relates to an X-ray diagnostic arrangement with a storage screen (4) for the latent storage of the respective X-ray image, with a readout device in which, to reproduce the image, the storage screen (4) is excited to illumination on the basis of individual image points by an area scanning by means of a scanning beam (5) from a radiation source, with a tubular, mirror-coated light guide (13) to record a scanned complete line (15) on the storage screen (4) as detector device (21) and with an image reproduction system. An aperture to receive the detector (21) is provided in the wall of the light guide (13). The detector (21) is oriented in such a manner that its light-sensitive surface extends parallel to the scanned line (15). The tubular light guide (13) is provided with a slot-shaped passage (28) for the scanning beam and is closed off at its ends by plates (16, 17) with mirror-coated surfaces (25).
