PURPOSE:To uniformly feed a cooling liquid to the polishing portion of honing machining by providing a cooling liquid feeding function to a honing head itself and discharging the cooling liquid out of gaps between band-shaped projecting portions which are radially formed on the outer periphery of the annular portion of a grinding wheel and whose top faces are formed into grinding faces and the comb-teeth shaped holding rods of a grinding-wheel holding portion. CONSTITUTION:In carrying out machining, as a diameter-increasing fluid is fed under pressure into the diameter-increasing fluid passage 11d of a head body 1, a pressing shaft body 5 is moved in the end side direction of the body against the energization of a spring 9 by a fluid pressure applied to the pressure receiving portion thereof. Due to the sliding contact between taper portions 40, 50 accompanying this, the diameter of a grinding wheel 4 is increased while uniformly increasing the projecting quantities of band-shaped projecting portions 4b which are projected out from between holding rods 14a. A cooling liquid from the cooling liquid introducing passage 11e of a head body 1 passes through the cooling liquid introducing out passage 42 of the grinding wheel 4 and discharged toward the polishing portion, or the top faces of the band-shaped projecting portions 4b of the grinding wheel 4. |
