The plastics member consists of a hollow profile of expanded thermoplastic material having a support for nails arranged inside the profile section, by means of a projection, extension or pin (3) inside the profile cavity. The pin swells after extrusion, particularly at grooves in the pin. The plastics material which bubbles out partially fills the cavity. Welding together between the external walls of the cavity and the thermoplastics material which has bubbled out does not take place to any significant extent. The method presents a process for getting the skin on the expanded thermoplastics material to burst in suitable places along the projection, extension or pin (3). <IMAGE> |
