ROTATING-MIRROR LASER PICTURE RECORDING DEVICE AND METHOD

PURPOSE: To achieve an average data speed of scanning by using the non- sequential arranging surface of a multifaced rotating mirror by a scanning line apparatus, and to change this speed so as to be compatible with the input data speed. CONSTITUTION: A desired high speed instantaneous scanning speed is kept while the number of scanning lines per sec is reduced so that the average data speed of recording is compatible with the input data speed from a host device 10 to reduce the average data speed of the transfer from the host device to a printer 12 is reduced. This operation is performed by passing over a large number of the surfaces of a multifaced rotary mirror and one scanning line is generated so as to traverse a photosensitive medium 32 with respect to one of (N) surfaces. This keeps an instantaneous scanning speed. The desired average data speed of the transfer from the host device 10 is reduced by a coefficient N.
