摘要 <p>An improved flywheel for an electromechanical tool such as a nailer or stapler. The tool is provided with a blade-like driver (1, 9) which is frictionally moved through a working stroke by means of an electrically driven flywheel (5, 12), the driver (1, 9) being squeezed between the flywheel (5, 12) and a support element such as a counter-rotating flywheel (13), a low inertia roller (6), or the like. The flywheel has a peripheral working surface (21) with parallel edges. The working surface (21) of the flywheel (18) makes a line contact with the driver during the driving stroke. The flywheel (18) is provided with at least one groove (24-36) formed in and extending along its working surface (21). Throughout its length the groove (24-36) is angularly related to the parallel edges (22, 23) of the flywheel working surface (21) so that the groove (24-36) traverses the line contact between the driver and the flywheel (18) during each working stroke. This more efficiently prevents build-up of foreign material on the driver (1, 9) and flywheel (5, 12) and produces less and more uniform wear of the driver (1, 9) and flywheel (5, 12). When two flywheels (12, 13) are used, the second flywheel (13) may be provided with a similar wiping groove (24-36).</p>
