PURPOSE:To specify a diagnosis subject definitely and perform the diagnosis of output devices accurately by selecting the output devices to be subjected to diagnosis by function and automatically operating the selected output devices. CONSTITUTION:A control signal from a microcomputer causes a means 200 to change a normal control mode for controlling various output devices to a failure diagnosis mode for diagnosing the failure of the output devices so that a room temperature is maintained to a temperature set with a temperature setting device 40. During the failure diagnosis mode, the temperature setting device 40 is operated to select the output device to be diagnosed by means of a means 300 by the function. The selected output device is operated automatically according to a specified operation pattern while other output devices are diagnosed and controlled to be fixed to a specified condition by means of a means 400. Thus the diagnosis subject is definitely specified and the diagnosis of the output devices is accurately performed.
