PURPOSE:To enhance transferred image density, and to reduce the fog of an image at the time of preservation by carrying a substance for receiving dye to be transferred from a thermal transfer dye donating material mixed with aqueous binder on a support. CONSTITUTION:A dye receiving substance for receiving dye transferred from a heat transfer die donating material by a heat and aqueous soluble binder are dissolved or dispersed in solvent to prepare coating solution. A support is coated with the solution, and dried to form a dye receiving substance- containing layer, thereby obtaining a thermal transfer image receiving material. The substance includes, for example, polymer for receiving thermal transferring dye, high boiling point organic solvent, aqueous nonsoluble thermal solvent, etc. The example of the aqueous soluble binder includes, for example, polyvinyl alcohol, plyvinylpyrrolidone, polyvinylpyridinium, etc. |
