Oscillator circuit for lighting supply

A fluorescent lamp 12 is connected to a secondary winding 22 of a transformer 20 having primary and feedback windings L1, L2 forming parts of an oscillator 18 which is energised from rectified mains supply 24, 26 with automatic changeover to a battery supply 32 by a relay J, S1 if the mains supply fails. A circuit 40 maintains a constant oscillator output voltage, and a circuit Z1, T1 provides a constant charging voltage for the battery 32.
